Huskies Fall to Winsor School

The Huskies traveled to Brookline, Massachusetts last Saturday for their matchup against The Winsor School. In the first half, Winsor kicked off the scoring early to put the Huskies down 0-1. Play remained primarily in the mid-field for most of the first half. Neither team was able to make any significant advances in either direction. However, netting a goal off of a scramble in the circle, Winsor extended their lead over the Huskies to make it 0-2 going into the second half. 

 

The second half took a similar tone to the first. Both teams, evenly matched, struggled to gain momentum moving up field. The Huskies were given a glimmer of hope after Haley Stanley ’21 scored their first, and what would be only, goal of the game. Before time expired, Winsor was able to break through Husky defense and add a game solidifying point to the scoreboard. Outshot 4-11 on the day, the Husky’s effort was not enough to topple Winsor. However, the team was able to leave the field with some tangible goals to set their sights on in their preparations for their next game at Cushing Academy.
