Huskies Battle Back Against Proctor

Coach Koester
A mighty second half puts the Huskies almost even with the Hornets.
The JV women's soccer squad has grown in numbers since getting some key players from the varsity team. With the addition of five fresh pairs of legs, the Huskies increased their strategy and rage of skill level against Proctor on Wednesday. Bry Treon stopped several Proctor attempts at a goal, but unfortunately their relentless offense poked four goals through in the first half. Jamie Holleran answered on a direct kick after a Proctor handball, and the Huskies ended the half at 1-4. But the team wasn't defeated yet. After a rousing halftime meeting, the ladies grew tenacious and strong. On the back line, Becca Simmons, Liv Arvidson, Lily Tripp, Lucy Thomson, and Madi Woods held strong and didn't let in any more goals. During her first time in net, Anna Wolf saved 7 shots, including one from a long scrum in front of the net. Alexa Mailloux scored on a corner kick four minutes into the second half when the Proctor goalie mishandled the ball, and New Hampton's third goal came from a great cross from Nga Nguyen to Sydney Mailloux in front of the net. The Huskies look forward to challenging Proctor again on Saturday and playing as well as they did in the second half for the entire game.
