Huskies Battle Hard in Season Opener

The Huskies came out of the gates ready to go and put the pressure on Brooks right away. We were able to capitalize on our mounting pressure early and score off a corner kick early in the game. That goal woke up Brooks who responded immediately with dominating possession and several chances created. Just as it looked like we held them off until half-time, Brooks scored a great team goal to tie the game.

The second half began the same way the first ended, lots of pressure and possession from a very strong Brooks team. They made it count within ten minutes of the restart and scored directly off a freekick. Never doubt the resiliency of the Huskies though, we bounced back and matched Brooks with chances created and attacking play in their half. It took us until the 85th minutes to pull level, but we scored yet another goal from a set piece.

We nearly stole the result in the last five minutes after missing a couple chances, but the game ended in a 2-2 tie. The boys battled hard against a great team, we will look to carry this momentum into the Holderness game next week.
