Solid Team Victory for the Huskies

After a scoreless first inning, NHS got on the board in the second with back-to-back solo homeruns by Zola Braswell and Maryellen Leach. The Huskies tallied three more runs from Ali Beaulieu, Bailey Jenness and Courtney Colarullo to head in to the 3rd with a 5-0 lead. Winchendon was held scoreless until they scored two unearned runs in the top of the 6th and another in the final frame. Leach earned the win for New Hampton School. She went the distance, allowing three hits while striking out 11 batters on the afternoon. She gave up no walks.

NHS scattered 15 hits in the game. Leach, Beaulieu, Colarullo and Braswell were repeat hitters on the day. Solid defense by the Huskies, especially in the infield, held Winchendon at bay and New Hampton was able to improve to 3-1. The Huskies have their first Lakes Region League contest on Friday at home versus Brewster Academy. Game time is 4:30p.m.
