Hoosick, NY - Although it took last second heroics to seal the game, New Hampton earned a big AAA victory over a feisty Hoosac School team tonight. With the win, New Hampton moves to 20-6 on the season and 6-3 in NEPSAC AAA play. The Huskies found themselves with the ball with 13.5 seconds to play in regulation with the game tied. Nebraska bound Mika Adams-Woods '19 (Syracuse, NY) converted a layup with 1.9 seconds left on the clock to put the Huskies up two. The hosts had a chance but turned the ball over on the final possesion.
For the fifth consecutive game Bas Leyte '20 (Bergen Op Zoom, Netherlands) notched a double-double and Mika Adams-Woods '19 (Syracuse, NY) led all scorers. New Hampton also saw Max Davis '19 (Oakland, CA) and Canberk Kavsuk '20 (Istanbul, Turkey) reach double-digits. The team also received solid contributions from Connor Strambi '19 (San Mateo, CA) who chippd in his first points as a Husky tonight.
New Hampton is back in action Friday when they host Lee Academy in the first round of the New Hampton Invitational at 8pm.
