New Hampton Fall to Avalanche

New Hampton took the ice Saturday afternoon against a very talented New Hampshire Avalanche U-16 team. The Huskies came out hard, playing hockey the right way, and working as a team. However, the Avalanche were too much to handle and the Huskies were down 4 to 0 after the first half. The second half didn’t show better results as New Hampton’s effort was lacking, resulting in a puck possession game for the Avalanche. The Avalanche ended up scoring five more goals, and won the game 9 to 0. Freshman winger, Jimmy McCool, worked hard all game and had five blocked shots. Sophomore defenseman, Daniel Pechr, anchored the Huskies defense and logged crucial minutes all game. Junior goalie, and assistant captain, Alex Bechard, faced well over 45 shots and made some great saves. The Huskies look to bounce back Wednesday afternoon when they take on Hebron Academy.
