1st Win of the Season for the Huskies!

NHS came flying right out of the gate. Julia G. had a big night, but got things rolling with a breakaway goal. Colleen H. scored the second goal with a beautiful shot. Julia G. was able to get another goal in the first, again on a breakaway. At the end of the first period, the Huskies were leading 3-0. In the second period, Jacqui G. scored her first goal with an assist from Taylor H. and Sam D. Julia G. scored her third goal coming off a beautiful play started by Jacqui G., who made a backwards pass to Taylor H., who then passed across the ice in front of the net to Julia G. for a one-timer. At the end of the second period Huskies were now leading 5-0. Vermont started the third period getting a goal. However, the Huskies responded but working on their passing game and picking up the rebounds in front of the net. Julia G. was on another breakaway, but Vermont's goalie made the initial save. Jacqui G. was able to find the puck and get the rebound goal. Minutes later, Taylor H. scored her first goal on a rebound shot from Jacqui G. Colleen H. scored her second goal on a breakaway. Lastly, Taylor H. scored her second goal, again finding the rebound on a shot from Julia G. Emma T. played in net for the Huskies and picked up the win making 11 saves. Zola B. was recognized after the game for her amazing leadership on and off the ice. Colleen H. was also recognized for her coach-ability and hard work finally paying off. Lastly, Jacqui G. was recognized after the game for her unselfish plays and great passing on the ice. Other notable players who had a great game today were Brenna C. for her great breakout plays, Alyx H. for her shots on net, and Ellie B. for her strong plays on defense. Great job Huskies!
