Huskies Win Two on Day 2

In the second day of the Northeast Hockey Showcase Tournament, New Hampton came out strong from the moment the puck dropped against the New England Fall Prep League All-Stars. Alec Grace opened the scoring on the first shift and the Huskies never looked back. Cale DuBrul and Isaac MacLeod each added a goal, while Cory Morris and Jake Dunlap scored twice for New Hampton to help the Huskies defeat the New England Fall Prep League All-Stars 7-0. Matt Sayles play strong again in net again to earn the shutout victory.
 
In New Hampton’s second game of the day, they took on Everest Academy from Toronto, Ontario. It was another dominating effort for the Huskies, as they took home a 7-1 win. Five different players scored for New Hampton; Marcus Joughin, Will Hilfiker, Davis Bone and Jake Dunlap all scored once while Isaac MacLeod had a hattrick. Lucas Brine was great in the cage earning his first win as a Husky. New Hampton went 3-0 in the round robin play of the Northeast Hockey Showcase Tournament to win their division and finish tied for first in the overall standings. However, the Huskies lost the tie breaker by one goal to finish 2nd, setting New Hampton up to play the 3rd place, South Florida Academy U18 at 8:00am tomorrow.
