Huskies Put Up Strong Performance at Gov's

Hannah Matlack
The Huskies traveled to Byfield, MA today to scrimmage Governor's Academy. The Huskies came out with great speed, chasing down attackers and making tackles in the midfield. Kylee Bowen, Olivia Sollows, and Ally Prentice led the attack, finding the spaces between the defenders and chasing down passes in the offensive third. Jess Burwell, and Sam Rivet ran sprint after sprint, heading up the sidelines, taking on players 1v1  to the corner, and Anna Shelden and Lindsey Duggan held the midfield together, putting high pressure on Governor's central players. Zola Braswell also made several phenomenal saves in net for the Huskies to keep the score tied at 0 at the end of the first half.

The Huskies started strong in the second half, with Jessie Hounchell and Melon Leach holding down a strong defense and clearing the ball to the midfield. Liv Dunn , Sera Hodgson and Ellie Beaudet tracked run after run and slowed down the speed of play as Gov's tried to attack. Gov's struck in the middle of the half with a well placed shot that floated over the Husky's goalkeeper. They netted their second goal off a quickly taken shot from the top of the 18 that went side-netting on the far post. The Huskies husseled their way to a 2-0 finish and managed a few shots of their own from Kylee, Sarai Nicolosi and Lindsey Duggan in the second half.

The Huskies will head to Wolfeboro to play Brewster this Wednesday!
