Hard fought loss to Holderness

Kim Duncan
Husky JV lacrosse dropped to 0-3 on Wednesday with a loss to fast Holderness team. While we are disappointed by the scoreboard, our team had other successes all over the field. Carla Wuerth had 9 saves, keeping our opponent to 9 goals. We also showed much more tenacity on the draw controls-winning 10 of the 18 possible balls. Amelia Monahan came up with possession on 5 of the draws. Coco Harriman grabbed 3, while Brinly Janelle and senior Jin Na each had 1 draw control. Our intensity also showed with our success on ground balls. Freshman and rookie Aleesa Borghi led the team with 3 ground balls-and provided valuable speed through the midfield as we transitioned from defense to offense. Monahan and Delaney Smith each netted three goals. Harriman found the back of the net once. We head to Brewster on Wednesday, April 18 hungry for our first win. With the progress we've made in the last three games, it's within our reach.
