The Huskies Advance to the MAISAD Championship Game

            New Hampton took on Kent’s Hill in the MAISAD Semi-finals Wednesday night in the upper gym. New Hampton got off to a fast start jumping out to a 18-4 lead early on in the furst half. Max D. and Adrian J. scored 14 of the 18 and helped pace the Huskies. After that Kent’s Hill tighten the defense up. It was a back and forth battle the rest of the first half. Score at half-time was 25-20 NHS.
            The second half was a dog fight. Both teams played stellar defense and made great hustle plays. Guthrie L. and Marcus P. led the charge defensively on the perimeter, while David H. player stellar defense vs. Kent’s Hill’s best post player. When KHS was gaining momentum Marcus P. made the game changing play. KHS was down 2 with under 3 minutes to go with the ball. Marcus stole the ball and finished the play with a fast break dunk. NHS didn’t look back. As the game went on, the Huskies defense got stronger. New Hampton held on to a 54-48 victory over Kent’s Hill.
            NHS was led by Max D. and Marcus P. with 14 apiece, while Guthrie L. and Adrian J. chipped in 9 apiece. New Hampton takes on Hyde School @ Hyde for the MAISAD championship Friday night at 4:30. Thanks to all the fans who have supported us throughout the year!
