Huskies Beat Winchendon School in Rematch

The Huskies had a rematch against Winchendon School on Saturday. NHS was looking to continue their home court dominance. Winchendon School came in, also playing well of late, which made for a great matchup. Austin Caruso came out on fire, scoring 12 first half points and playing stellar all-around defense. Six Huskies scored in the first half as well, but Winchendon hung in tough as both teams traded runs. When the first half ended, NHS found themselves up 1.
Winchendon School was the aggressor in the beginning of the second half going on a strong 14-2 run and pushed the lead to 11. After the Huskies shot 8-11 from three in the first half, they couldn’t buy a shot in the first part of the second half. What brought NHS back into the game was the stellar defense of Adrian Juilland-Johnson and Guthrie Little holding Winchendon’s guards in check and turning them over, resulting in transition points. The turning point in the game was a corner 3 from Will Wood that put the Huskies on top for good. Marcus Peterson and Charlie Raisin hit free throws at the end of the game to ice the victory for New Hampton, 78-70.
The Huskies were led by Marcus Peterson (24 points), Charlie Raisin (16 points), Austin Caruso (12 Points) and Max Davis (11 points). The Huskies take on Kents Hill @ Kents Hill this Wednesday. On behalf of the team, we would like to thank you all for your support this weekend. We could not have done it without you all!!
