NHS vs. Deerfield

The Huskies would travel to Eaglebrook School to play Deerfield in their second matchup of the season. Both teams saw each other at the Cushing tournament earlier this season, in which the Huskies would win 7-4. However, this game would be a much different game.
In the first period, Caelin Flaherty '18 would score the first goal for the Huskies, giving them a 1-0 lead. The Huskies would kill off a two-man disadvantage and keep their lead into the second period. In the second period, both teams would have multiple scoring opportunities. McKenzie Haberl '19, with assists from Flaherty and Crowley-Cahill '10, would earn a power-play goal to give themselves a 2-0 lead. Deerfield would answer back with a power-play goal to cut the lead to one.
The Huskies would head into the third period with a one-goal advantage and look to extend their lead. However, after a rowdy Deerfield crowd and a momentum shift, Deerfield would tie the game with just over a minute to play. Rather than let them keep the momentum, the Huskies would fight back hard. Not even thirty seconds later, Lauren DeBlois '19 would beat the Deerfield goalie with a shot over the goalie's shoulder. The Huskies would keep the lead for the last forty-seven seconds, earning them a great 3-2 victory.
