NHS Drops Game Vs. Hyde School

            The New Hampton Huskies (7-1) took on the Hyde Wolverines (10-0) in MAISAD matchup tonight. Both school game in with very strong records, battle for the top spot in the league. New Hampton got off to a strong start jumping out to a quick 8-point lead in the early stages of the game. Hyde responded by pressing and trying to speed up the Huskies. With their 2-1-2 pressure, Hyde stopped the Husky offense and pushed the ball in transition. At the Half, Hyde was up 34-20 at half time.
            The Wolverines continued their pressure in the second half and extended their lead to 20+, but the Huskies never backed down. Max Davis caught fire, hitting 4 second half 3-pointers closing the point differential to 5 with 4 minutes to play. The comeback attempt came up short though as Hyde went on another mini run and closed the door. The final score was 61-53.
            New Hampton got stellar defense and hustle from senior captain Guthrie Little (9 points). Max Davis finished with a team high 17 points and Marcus Peterson chipped in 14. Overall, New Hampton left it all out of the court and competed until the final buzzer. New Hampton takes on Hebron tomorrow at 1.
