NHS wins 3rd Straight Home Game

New Hampton took on Hebron in a MAISAD league game Wednesday night. Both teams got off to cold starts with the game only being 4-2 5 minutes in. The Huskies struggled to secure defensive rebounds at the beginning of the game, giving Hebron several second, third and fourth chance opportunities to score but they were unable to capitalize. With 10 minutes left in the half the Huskies turned up their defense and started moving the ball effortlessly on offense. Marcus Peterson scored 11 first-half points, including two furious jams and Adrian Juilland-Johnson found open teammates for several assists against the 2-3 zone. New Hampton finished the half on a strong run and found themselves up, 31-11 at halftime.
The Huskies continued their strong play in the second half. Buckets from Charlie Raisin, Guthrie Little and 3-made free throws from David Henriquez pushed the lead up to 27. Max Davis then had a run of his own scoring 6 straight points for the Huskies. Will Wood, TJ McMahon came in and played stellar defense and converted on all the hustle plays for the Huskies. New Hampton ended up beating Hebron 58-34.
The reason for New Hamptons strong play was their ball movement. 9 of the 12 players scored for the Huskies and they were able to play strong defense only allowing 34 total points. Max Davis and Marcus Peterson led the team in scoring, chipping in 11 apiece. Adrian Juilland Johnson had a season high 7 assists. The Huskies take on a very good Hyde team on the road this Saturday. Thanks again to all of the support from the students and faculty!
