Huskies Win Second Home Game By 20

Huskies beat Northfield Mount Hermon definitively the second time around (58-32). New Hampton came out strong by playing an uptempo transition offense led by Marcus Peterson. The Huskies then hit two big 3's, but then went on an exteneded dry spell against Northfield Mount Hermon's 2-3 zone as they settled for deep jumpshots early in the shot clock. Northfield Mount Hermon continued to cut into the lead throughout the first by crashing the boards and scoring down low. Late in the first Huskies regained their rhythm after a 3 pointer by Max D., and continued on to score 8 in a row to close out the half.

The Huskies then hit full stride during the second half. After a cold start with 3 consecutive misses, New Hampton began to move the ball and utilize all their offensive weapons on the floor. When they scored, it came in bunches, facilitated by the assists of Marcus P., Austin C., and Adrian J., distributing the points among 7 different players versus the 4 that scored in the first. In addition to efficient scoring, the Huskies doubled down on their defense and held NMH to 6 points for the first 9 minutes of the half. The youngest members of the Varsity B Basketball team then closed out the game, giving PJ Finn his first 2 points as a New Hampton Husky.

Scoring leaders were Marcus P. (16 points), Guthrie L. (12 points), Max D. (9 points), and Charlie R. (8 points).

Shout outs to Will W. for his lockdown defense, Chris E. for his excellent positional and team defense, and Adrian J. with his assists.
