Huskies Win Home Opener

The New Hampton Huskies started off 2018 on the right foot with a 57-47 win over Kent’s Hill on Friday night. The Huskies came running out of the gate. Charlie Raisin scored 7 of New Hampton’s first 12 points to get them going. Marcus Peterson and Adrian Juilland-Johnson then took over and pushed the offensive tempo as they built an early lead. The Huskies played great defense in the first half holding Kent’s Hill to only 24 first-half points and went into the half up 10.
New Hampton came out flat in the second half, allowing Kent’s Hill to cut the deficit to 3 mid-way through the second half. The Huskies started to get stops and push the ball in transition allowing them to take back a 12-point led. New Hampton traded buckets with Kent’s Hill the rest of the way. The Huskies closed out the game with a strong 2-minute defensive effort and held on to win by 10.
The Huskies were paced by Marcus Peterson (22 points), Charlie Raisin (12 points) and Adrian Juilland-Johnson (9 points). The balanced scoring helped New Hampton avenge their only loss on the season against Kent’s Hill last month. The Huskies are back at it tomorrow at home vs. NMH @ 4pm. Thanks to all of the fans for their support!
