Simple Plays Lead to Huskies 2nd Consecutive Win

The New Hampton Huskies looked to stay on the winning track as they took on North Yarmouth Academy in their second game of the day. The Huskies need to take care of business and win to have any chance to play in the finals tomorrow morning. The game started out well for the New Hampton, they were controlling the game and pounding shots on the NYA goaltender. However, the offense from this morning’s game did not seem to carry over as the Huskies were unable to score, leaving both teams tied 0-0, after the first period. In the second period, the flood gates open and the Huskies scored five times. Thomas Albert scored the first two goals for the Huskies, then Alec Grace scored on a nice deflection. The forth New Hampton goal was scored on a rebound by Patrick Kramer, the first goal of his career. Alec Grace scored his second of the game to round out the scoring in the period. The offensive explosion continued in the third period with New Hampton scoring five more times. Jake Dunlap scored twice in the same shift to give the Huskies a seven-goal lead. Eamon Siliva-Chandley scored his second goal in as many games to increase New Hampton’s lead to eight. After New Hampton’s eighth goal they relaxed, took a penalty, giving NYA the chance to score their only goal of the game. Then the Huskies responded with two more goals, one by Michael Kesselring and the other by James Hatzepetros, the second Husky in the game to score his first career goal. Andrew Engel was solid in net stopping 18 of the 19 shots he faced in the win. New Hampton will now hope for some help from Hebron to defeat Pingree, in order to make it to the Finals, tomorrow.
