Simple Plays Leads to Huskies Win

Coming off a disappointing loss to Pingree yesterday, the Huskies came out of the gate flying against Hebron Academy. Alec Grace deflected home, Lukas Uhler’s pass just under three minutes into the period to give New Hampton the early lead. Three minutes after Grace’s goal, Joe Dunlap was set up by Michael Kesselring and Jake Dunlap to add to New Hampton’s lead. Four minutes later, Michael Kane received a pass in the slot from Lukas Uhler and sniped, giving the Huskies a three-goal lead.  Eamon Siliva-Chandley picked off a Hebron pass in the offensive zone and then ripped a shot top-shelf for his first goal as a Husky. The first period ended with New Hampton dominating the play resulting in a 4-0 lead. In the second period, the Huskies forgot to keep things simple and tried to do too much on their own. Thomas Albert scored one for New Hampton and Hebron scored one as well, leaving the score 5-1 after two periods of play. In the third period, New Hampton got back to basics and scored four more times. Bradley Shaw and Jake Dunlap scored while Joe Dunlap and Alec Grace added their second goals of the game. New Hampton finally got back on the winning track with the 9-1 win. Eli Curry was great in net stopping 16 of 17 shots in his first win in net this season. New Hampton will play North Yarmouth Academy this evening in a game they need to win for a chance to make the finals of the tournament.
