NHS vs. Proctor

After a high-energy and intense game against St. Paul’s last night, the Huskies would have to dig deep to find the fire and passion to get past a gritty and tough Proctor team. Although the weather report called for snow, the Proctor Hornets were still able to make the trip to the Jake. MJ Peters ’19 would earn her second start in a row for the Huskies in net and look to have a solid performance again.
The Huskies had fifteen shots in the first period but were only able to capitalize on one. McKenzie Haberl ’19 would beat the Proctor goalie from an original pass from Callie McLaughlin ’20 and then a two-on-one with Caelin Flaherty ’18. The Proctor goalie was always in position, making it tough for the Huskies to capitalize.
The second period would be another good period by the Huskies with a ton of scoring opportunities, but again, they would only be able to capitalize once. Savannah Norcross ’18 would score a rebound off of another shot by Caelin Flaherty ’18. The Hornets were unable to score, giving the Huskies a 2-0 lead.
The last Husky goal was scored by Kelly Matthews ’19 from a shot at the point by Brianna Michaud-Nolan ’19. MJ Peters ’19 was able to earn her first shutout of the season as the Huskies won 3-0.
