NHS vs. Hebron

    The Huskies look to start off the week by hosting the Hebron Lumberjacks at the Jake on Wednesday. The Huskies would look to take quality shots and continue working on their team chemistry. Olivia Sollows ’19 would start in net for the Huskies and look to make some quality saves. 
       The Huskies came out flying in the first period and were able to net three goals. Lauren DeBlois ’19 would start the scoring for the Huskies. Lily Humphries ’19 would score two goals back to back for the Huskies. Kelly Matthews ’19 earned two assists on the Humphries goals, while Anna Shelden ’20, Jess Burwell ’20 and Courtney Colarullo ’21 all earned one assist each. On a giveaway at the defensive-zone line, Lumberjacks were able to capitalize and end the period with a score of 3-1 in favor of the Huskies.
        In the second period, the Huskies were able to score four unanswered goals to make the score 7-1. Savannah Norcross ’18 would score two goals, Lily Humphries ’19 would score her third goal of the game, and Kelly Matthews ’19 would score for her third point of the game.
       New post-graduate Melissa Marciales ’18 would step in net and finish out the game for the Huskies. The Lumberjacks would earn a Power-Play, in which the puck would deflect off of a stick and find its way back into the net, giving the Lumberjacks their second goal. To end the game, Brianna Michaud-Nolan ’19 would score the eighth and final goal for the Huskies to earn an 8-2 victory.
