NHS vs. Nobles

Once again, the Huskies would open up their season on the road against the Bulldogs from Nobles. The Huskies would only have two practices to prepare for this big game. Olivia Sollows ’19 would start in net for the Huskies and would play extremely well. She made a number of amazing saves, keeping the Huskies within close proximity to Nobles.
The first period would be full of back and forth action, but the Bulldogs would score first after a set of three or four shots in a row. Unable to clear the puck, the Bulldogs would find the back of the net, giving them a 1-0 lead over the Huskies. The Huskies would need to find team chemistry and play a better defensive-zone game.
After a shift in the forward lines, the Huskies seemed a bit more comfortable in the second period. They would earn a few offensive opportunities but could not capitalize. Sollows would do an excellent job in net and keep the Bulldogs from scoring another goal. Still down 1-0, the Huskies would need a strong third period.
The first shift of the third period was a true example of “Husky Hockey,” when new Husky, Lily Humphries ’19 would pass to Lauren DeBlois ’19, who would blast a shot from the point, deflecting off of a Nobles defenseman to tie the game at one. Shortly after, the Bulldogs would earn a two-on-one and put the puck past Sollows. The Huskies were not able to come back and unfortunately came up short. They look to bounce back on Friday against the Brewster Bobcats.
