September Male Athlete of the Month

The Male Athlete of the Month is awarded to Guthrie Little a member of the Men’s Varsity Soccer team.  Starting at center back, a position that does not provide many scoring opportunities, this team member has scored 3 goals in the team’s first 5 games.  While also leading the team to less than one goal against per game average.  Guthrie has done this while also being asked to mark the opposing team’s best attacking player.  Against Holderness and again at Proctor, he did such a great job marking the other teams center forward that by the end of the game, both players has been subbed off because they made no impact on the game.  As a second year captain, Guthrie has been one of the best captains the soccer program has ever had.  He is a leader that gives his teammates confidence with both his toughness and composure.  The athletic department recognized Guthrie Little for his contributions in the month of September.

    As the goalie on the 1974 NHS New Hampshire State Championship team I know how proud these two young men are of this award that they have received not only from the school but from their teammates.
