Fall Theatre Production

New Hampton School's Performing Arts Department will stage its fall play, Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs, on November 13-14. The public is invited to the November 14 show in the school's McEvoy Theater at 7:30 PM.

Directed by NHS Director of Performing Arts Joe Sampson, Brighton Beach Memoirs is a seriocomic play about a family living in Brooklyn during the Great Depression. It is also the coming of age story of Eugene Morris Jerome, a fourteen-year-old boy growing up in a crowded house with his parents, brother, aunt, and two cousins. Due to occasional strong language and adult topics, discretion is advised.

“I’m really excited to be working with this talented cast on a play that is both funny and heart warming,” Sampson says, “Meredith Brown’s beautiful set and the cast’s great chemistry together make this a true labor of love."

The cast includes Torre Davy ’17 as Eugene, Maggie Van Dyne ’19 as Blanche, Alyxandra Huckaby ’19 as Kate, Ruby Schechter ’19 as Laurie, Sarah Snow ’17 as Nora, Elliot Sezalory ’18 as Stanley, and Leo Liang ’17 as Jack.

Emma Wellington ’17 serves as Stage Manager, and New Hampton School Faculty Meredith C. Brown is the Set and Lighting Designer.
