Committed to Self-Development

  • Field Hockey Women's-JV

    2023 - 2024
    Head Coach: Leia Bridgham

The athletes that make up the Junior Varsity team come together to develop their athleticism and game knowledge. Skill, conditioning, work ethic and reliability are huge factors in any athlete’s quest to improve one’s self and one’s game. At the Junior Varsity level, athletes are expected to have visibly committed to continued self-development. To this end, increased emphasis is placed on refinement of fundamental skills, elements and strategies of team play with an intentional focus on having fun along with social and emotional development.

The Junior Varsity Huskies are coached by Leia Bridgham and Jacque Little. Coach Bridgham has been with the Field Hockey program since 2009 and serves as the Head JV Coach as well as the Goalkeeping Coach for the Varsity and JV teams. New Hampton School’s Junior Varsity Field Hockey coaches work towards achieving a balance between continued team and player development and the quest for victory.

“Victory is in having done your best. If you’ve done your best, you’ve won.” — Bill Bowerman
