The New Hampton School Dance Program is proud to announce that the Dance Technique III class was selected to perform in the Gala concert at the Plymouth State University's Dance Premier on Saturday, February 6, 2010.
Prior to the winter break, a video of a dance piece the students have been rehearsing was submitted to be adjudicated by a panel of judges at Plymouth State University. Of the numerous pieces that were submitted by groups attending the Premier, New Hampton School is one of the ten groups that has been selected to perform in the Gala.
The piece New Hampton dancers will be performing is a modern dance piece called "Deceptive Stillness," choreographed by Dance Director, René Metzler, and performed by Christina Baker ’11, Meighan Bourbeau ’10, Sydney Frazier ’12, Dara Levitan ’11 and Irene Schultz ’12.
The PSU Dance Premier is an all-day event in which the Dance Technique III class will participate. NHS students will attend four dance workshops and then perform in the Gala Concert. The Gala is at 8 pm on February 6, and is open to the public. For ticket information go to www.plymouth.edu/silver/ or call 603-535-ARTS.
