Read Bio
Karen M. Wislocky is an educator whose dream to engage students and motivate their interest in learning dates back as long as she can remember. In 2004, Karen earned dual degrees, a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and a B.S. in Elementary Education from West Chester University. She acquired her teaching certificates and professional experience teaching in New Jersey public schools. In 2010, she moved to Paris, France and earned the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults), thus positioning herself to teach English as a second language (ESL) and English as a foreign language (EFL). Immersed in French culture and language, Karen thrived while working for the American School of Paris and the prestigious Ecole Militaire's War College English Department.
Excited to dedicate her career focus toward working with international students who wish to learn English and attend college in the United States, Karen returned to the United States in 2012, and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs at West Chester University.
She currently lives, teaches, works, and studies in Pennsylvania. Karen enjoys singing, dancing, acting, playing with her 7-year-old dog, Ella, writing/blogging, spending time with family and friends, going to the theater, reading, hearing live music, and just about anything in the kitchen (baking, cooking, you name it!). She's excited to spend her third consecutive summer at New Hampton School.
