 | Amy WilsonDirector of Visual and Performing Arts 603-677-3513 Amy Wilson is the Director of the Visual and Performing Arts Department, Director of the Galletly Gallery, teacher of Photography, advisor, and dorm parent in Caswell House. Amy completed her B.A. and B.S. at the University of Maine in Orono and has studied photography extensively under the instruction of masters such as Arno Minkkinen, Christopher James, Tillman Crane, Connie Imboden, and Elizabeth Opalenik, and Jean Paul Caponigro, among others. For Amy, image-making is a way of life. The final vision of her camera work might result in the form of a silver gelatin print, an alternative process, digital image, or mixed media piece.  Meredith BrownTheater Technical Director 603-677-3515 Meredith Brown is an intern in the Visual and Performing Arts Department. She graduated in 2005 from Roger Williams University with a BA in Theatre Design, and has worked as a technical director at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH, and most recently worked as a stage crew advisor at Pinkerton Academy.

 John BuckEnvironmental and Studio Art Teacher 603-677-3502 Johnny is a member of the Art Department, teaching Arts Foundation, Studio and Environmental Art. He has taught art for the past 15 years and feels that teaching and working with students in the studio keeps him feeling young and creative. He lives on campus with his wife, Suzanne, The Director of Admissions at New Hampton and their daughter Halsey (2). Johnny coaches Boys JV Lacrosse, works in Russell Dorm and is working on creating a strong Teachers Intern Program at New Hampton. He received his B.A in art education from Salem State College. Presently Johnny and his family do not own a dog but his daughter really would like one. |
|  | Jeremy MathisonMusic Instructor 603-677-3569 NACMAI & NHCMA award winning bandleader Jeremy Mathison teaches in the New Hampton School Music Department. He is a graduate of Plymouth State College where he was a member of jazz ensembles, jazz big band, classical ensembles, and college chorale. He has played jazz, rock, country and fusion in New England as well as numerous pit ensembles for theatre companies. At New Hampton School Jeremy teaches MIDI and Recording, Contemporary Ensemble and Guitar Ensemble. He is the dorm head in Russell where he lives with his wife Amy and daughter Lily.

 Rene MetzlerDance Instructor 603-677-3562 Rene Metzler was appointed Dance Director at the New Hampton School in September 2006. She has taught dance at various institutions such as Perkiomen School, French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts, Muhlenberg College Dance Center for Children and Teens and private dance studios. Metzler has toured with Dance Olympus as VIP Coordinator for three summers. Metzler is trained in multiple dance idioms and has her B.A. in Dance and Business Administration from Muhlenberg College.

 Joe SampsonDirector of Performing Arts 603-677-3567 Joe Sampson has worked in theatre, film and television his entire adult life. He has appeared in many plays across the country, including Shear Madness in San Francisco, Chicago, Laguna Beach and at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. He was also seen in Love’s Labour’s Lost at The Accidental Theatre Company in New York City, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told at the Source Theatre in Washington, DC, She Stoops to Conquer at the Westside Rep. in New York City, Biloxi Blues at the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Talley’s Folly at the Sycamore Rouge Playhouse, and Corpus Christi, Romeo and Juliet, Our Town and Betty’s Summer Vacation at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Theatre for four years. Film appearances include Quiz Show, Two-Minute Heist, Café Society, Ashes, Jane Street and Stephen’s Silver Bell. Television appearances include Law and Order and Now and Again. Joe has directed New Hampton School students in the Theater program since 2006.

|  | Martha SheppAssistant Director of Communications & Studio Art and Graphic Design Teacher 603-677-3418 Assistant Director of Communications Martha Shepp is also a member of the Visual and Performing Arts Faculty, teaching Intermediate/Advanced Art Studio (Portfolio) and Graphic Design. She previously taught at Coker College (SC) and at the University of Tennessee. She has many years of industry experience as a publication designer, musician, and artist. Martha attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, earning her BFA in 1980, and recently received her MFA from the University of Tennessee. She guides the newspaper club and is a member of Husky Green Council. She lives in Pillars House.

 Kathleen SmithDirector of Music 603-677-3573 Kathleen Smith was a part-time music teacher at NHS for two years prior to her appointment as director of music. She will also coach the Women’s JV Lacrosse Team in the spring. She lives in Bristol with her family.
