| | Dear Prospective Families,
Are you wondering what New Hampton School is like? If you’re like most prospective students, you probably have lots of questions: What programs does New Hampton offer? What are the teachers like? What kind of kids go to New Hampton? Does this look like the school for me?
These are the questions we love! It is my pleasure to introduce you to New Hampton School. As you peruse our Web site, I am confident that you will develop answers to your queries. You will meet students and faculty, learn about our academic and extra curricular offerings, and feel the energy that buzzes around our campus and community.
Founded in 1821, New Hampton School is a college preparatory boarding and day school, grades nine through postgraduate tucked away on a picturesque 305-acre campus in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, ninety miles north of Boston. It is an unpretentious community in which 315 students and 65 faculty strive to learn together and develop a better understanding of each other and the larger world in which we live.
It’s a time of excitement here at New Hampton. Our brand new $9.7 million-dollar Pilalas Center For Math and Science opened in September 2009. This state-of-the-art space allows us to teach and learn in the most innovative of settings. It also affords us opportunity to offer unique curriculum. Along these lines, you may have heard that New Hampton is a candidate school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. We will pilot a few classes this year and are on track to award diplomas in 2012. We will keep you posted on developments with this phenomenal curriculum.
New Hampton School prepares students for life-long learning through self-discovery, authentic relationships, civic responsibility, and global citizenship. If you're ready to Go Beyond yourself, we're ready for you. We can’t wait to hear from you soon.
Sending warm wishes,
Suzanne Walker Buck

 Gina WagnerAdministrative Assistant 603-677-3407
Gina Wagner is the Administrative Assistant handling all aspects of welcoming applicants and their families as well as keeping our Admission Team organized.
Gina attended Wheaton College and worked for The J.Jill Group for 15 years as an Information Technology Project Manager and then for 3 years for The Newfound Area School District in their Special Education department before coming to NHS in 2006. Gina grew up in New Hampton and lives near campus with her husband Greg and daughter Kayla. Kayla is a 4-year senior this year at New Hampton School. “I was asked shortly after Kayla’s acceptance to NHS if I would like to interview for a position in the Academic Office. I was thrilled to think that I could be present in Kayla’s day-to-day life and contribute to such a wonderful school at the same time. Since that day, New Hampton has become my second home.”
“The adults and students are truly a family, always willing to help and to take the extra step to let you know that you are unique and special. It’s a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, yet it is comfortable here. And Kayla’s experience here has been everything she hoped it would be from the moment she initiated the search in 8th grade. She felt being here would broaden her academic options and better prepare her for college life. She knew that she would be meeting people from all over the world and was looking forward to the diversity. She now has friends from all reaches of life and backgrounds and is learning socially and academically from that experience each day. As an “insider” I am reminded each day that we made the right decision to have Kayla here.”

| | | When my brother attended New Hampton graduation with me, he said, “When you signed your daughter up to attend a private school 3,000 miles away from home, I thought you were crazy for spending that kind of time and money. Now I see that she has become a different person, and that New Hampton provided an amazing environment to help make that happen for her.” And as she went through the faculty receiving line after the graduation ceremony talking to her teachers about the past and the future, my father said, “Everyone should go through a time in their life where the people around them care this much about their success and well-being.” In short, job well done! Thanks so much to the whole New Hampton community for making such a positive impact on her life. NHS Dad
