Boston Crusaders to Perform June 16 at NHS

Will McCulloch
The Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, a precision marching music group currently in residence at New Hampton School, will offer a free public performance on Wednesday,  June 16.

The event will begin at 7 pm and will take place on New Hampton’s Lower Field behind the school’s main academic buildings.  The public should park by the F. Merrill Lindsay Ice Arena on Dr. Childs Road or in the Admissions Office parking area.

The Crusaders perform at numerous high-profile venues across the nation, including the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, the Alamo Dome, the Citrus Bowl, and the Georgia Dome. Founded in 1940, the Crusaders are the third-oldest junior drum and bugle corps in the nation and are a founding member of Drum Corps International. The corps, composed entirely of brass players, percussionists, and color guard members under the age of 22, travels over 10,000 miles each summer, performing in more than 40 competitions and exhibitions before a combined audience of over 300,000 fans.

The Crusaders’ mission is to provide to its members the finest marching music education available anywhere.  For more information, visit the website www.crusaders.com.
