Student-athletes Set Sights on Top Division I Programs
Three New Hampton School student-athletes make verbal commitments to the top Division I lacrosse programs in the country.
Matt '19 and Wes Narewski '17 recently committed to play Division I lacrosse for John's Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Although both Matt and Wes are committed to be face-off guys in college, Wes picks up a long pole and plays defense for the Huskies as well. The brothers joined New Hampton last year from Wrentham, Massachusetts seeking both a better balance to their academic and athletic careers and the opportunity to play with exceptional teammates under the direction of Coach Justin Simon.
Lars Swensen ‘19, from Duxbury, Massachusetts recently made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse for Syracuse University. This will be Lars’ first year playing attack for the Huskies and will no doubt be fun to watch alongside some of the big offensive weapons returning to New Hampton this spring.
The Narewski brothers were key contributors to the team's success last year, leading them to an undefeated season, a Top 20 national team ranking, and a back-to-back Lakes Region championship title. The Huskies are looking forward to another successful season in spring 2017 as players advance their collaboration and skills following the prior year's accomplishments.
